National Eating Disorder Awareness Week @ Various Locations

If you think you may have an eating disorder you are not alone! Join us for National Eating Disorder Awareness Week, 2/22-25th to learn more.  Our campus has an Eating Disorder Consultative Team that can help you so please reach out to the Student Health Center, Counseling Center, or Student Wellness & Health Promotion’s Nutrition Programs Mgr.and ask for information.


National Eating Disorders Awareness Week is an annual campaign to educate the public about the realities of eating disorders and to provide hope, support, and visibility to individuals and families affected by eating disorders.
 
This year’s theme is See the Change, Be the Change. UCI Counseling Center is graciously co-sponsoring various events. 
 

  • Mon, 2/21st Resource tabling @ ARC all week  – stop by and get a  free body affirmation card (while supplies last)
  •  Tues, 2/22nd  “Be the change/See the change” Resource tabling -expand your awareness of eating disorders and where to get help on our campus (sponsored by Counseling Center 11am-1pm SC Ring 25)
    •  4-5pm Social Media and Disordered Eating Workshop (via Zoom link https://uci-hipaa.zoom.us/j/98034301044)
      (led by Student Wellness & Health Promotion’s  dietitian Jody Margolis  and Counseling Center’s Sr. Staff Psychologist Dr. Tatiana Kassar)  Come see if you are at risk, how to spot fad diets and find social media that promotes body neutrality and anti-diet culture.
  •  Wed, 2/23rd 10-11am Journal to Wellness theme: anti-diet culture – explore and improve your relationship to food and your body through journal prompts (led by Student Wellness & Health Promotions’ Body Image Peer Health Educators via Zoom 914 0429 4979)
  • Friday, 2/25th “Nourish to Flourish” Resource tabling  sponsored by Student Wellness & Health Promotion,  11am-1pm Student Center Ring  (eating disorder resources and  free anti-diet culture stickers & succulent plants while supplies last)

Wednesday Wellness Walk: Sea & Sage Wildlife Preserve @ Meet Outside Zot N' Go
Feb 23 @ 11:30 am – 1:00 pm

One of the safest ways to re-engage people and get some exercise is to do so with a casual walk outdoors. Come join us as we explore the beauty of our campus and the surrounding area. All are welcome, including undergrads, grad students, faculty, and staff!

February 23rd: Sea & Sage Wildlife Preserve

Meet CSWHP and Campus Recreation staff outside of Zot N Go at 11:30AM and we will begin our stroll which will incorporate mindfulness, meditation and ecological education.
